OBJECTIVES
Bergen County Youth Group focuses on three main objectives to help us pave the way to a bright future. These objectives are:
TO HONOR AND PRESERVE OUR HERITAGE
Through mentoring younger children, creating presentations, and researching on the origin and traditions of celebrations, we hope to entwine our American and Indian cultures - our heart and our soul. Helping and educating others allows you to use a new and unknown lens - one that helps give you a new and open-minded perspective of this world.
TO SERVE OUR COMMUNITY
A community is not just composed of who and what surrounds us geographically; a community is a group that is bound by profound commonalities - something deeper than location. We plan to help others in need, all the while visiting places like hospitals and senior centers to try and contribute to something larger than ourselves.
TO EMPOWER THE YOUTH
All it takes is a little bit of determination to start something huge. Through speakers, talking sessions, and leadership opportunities, we plan to ignite the spark in those who have remained extinguished for too long - in an ironic sense, we plan to rejuvenate the minds and determination of the youth.
